The slow release at the end of a day, when the light softens, the mist begins to lower and cool air moves back through the gully. Warm ochres settle beneath a hazy sky, edges loosen, and the ground gives up its heat. Painted from memory of Morialta Gorge, it holds that quiet exhale when a place stops holding itself and begins to let go.
