Country shaped by pressure and time, where rock has been folded, faulted and laid down in slow layers. Charcoal lines run like bedding planes across warm ochre and rust, holding the weight of ground that has been forming far longer than we have been looking at it. Painted from memory of Morialta Gorge, it is less a view than a record of what the earth has been doing.
61 x 61 cm acrylic, ink and charcoal on canvas. Framed in Tasmanian Oak floating frame
