The far view, held loosely. A rise of warm earth floats above raw canvas while the sky dissolves into pale washes and a cool crown of teal and grey sinks back into mist. Almost nothing is stated outright. Painted from memory of Morialta Gorge, it is a place recalled rather than seen, softened by distance until only air and light remain.
