A coastal dune from ground level — the viewer placed among the scrub, the dune crest rising ahead, a glimpse of teal ocean beyond. The luminous foreground sand sweeps through warm creams and cool violet shadows, the vegetation masses rendered in rich ochres and burnt siennas. The charcoal drawing is fully integrated throughout, describing dried plant forms and wind traces with confident, free marks. A companion piece to The Coast I Carry, this work offers the intimate, immersive experience of being inside the landscape rather than looking across it.
