Unconformity draws its name and inspiration from the geological term describing a visible break or gap in the Earth's stratigraphic record—a place where layers of rock from vastly different time periods meet, divided by erosion, upheaval, or absence. This work seeks to capture this concept through layering textured collage, richly pigmented surfaces, and bold, fractured forms.

Deep maroons, ochres, and earthen reds suggest mineral deposits and weathered stone, while subtle graphite lines trace fissures and boundaries between planes. The composition itself is both grounded and unsettled, as if time has shifted beneath our feet. Abstracted forms echo ancient rock formations, coastlines, and geological pressures.

Through its layered construction and complex surface, Unconformity becomes a meditation on time, transformation, and the silent forces that shape the landscape and ourselves.
