Painted from the ancient country of the Flinders Ranges, this work captures a weathered sandstone escarpment as the late light rakes across it. Warm ochres and rust catch the sun on the rock's fractured faces, while the far ranges dissolve into cool blue haze. It's a study in deep time and fading light and explores the idea that stone holds the day's last warmth long after the sun has gone.
